Dear Constituents,
I am pleased to advise the constituents of Edmonton-Spruce Grove that the Joint Review Panel for the Enbridge Northern Gateway Project begins hearings next week in Kitamat Village, British Columbia.
The proposed Enbridge Northern Gateway Project involves the construction of two 1,170-kilometre pipelines running from Bruderheim, Alberta to Kitimat, B.C., and the construction and operation of the Kitimat Marine Terminal.
Exports create jobs and growth. It is therefore in Canada's national interest to open new export markets outside the United States – and into Asia in particular.
The Northern Gateway is currently going through a careful and comprehensive review process to ensure the proposal is safe and environmentally sound. Our government has asked that the process be conducted efficiently and without excessive delays.
For more information on the joint review process, visit the Panel’s website at http://www.gatewaypanel.review-examen.gc.ca.
Yours truly,
Hon. Rona Ambrose, P.C., M.P.
Edmonton-Spruce Grove
