Edmonton, Alberta – The Honourable Rona Ambrose, Member of Parliament for Edmonton-Spruce Grove and Minister of Labour, today spoke at the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation’s International Women’s Day Tea in support of the Lois Hole Hospital for Women. Minister Ambrose delivered a speech entitled Strong Leadership, Strong Women and a Strong World.
“International Women’s Day is about celebrating the progress that has been made towards the equality for women and our full participation in Canadian life” said Minister Ambrose. “It’s about reflecting what steps we can take to increase women’s participation and access to leadership roles and opportunities, so that all women and girls can reach their full potential and help build a more prosperous Canada and a stronger world”.
The tea was organized by the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation in support of the Lois Hole Hospital for Women.

Earlier today, Minister Ambrose made a $65,000 funding announcement to the Elizabeth Fry Society of Edmonton.
