Portraits of Honour
EDMONTON, Alberta. On September 10th 2011 Rona visited the Portraits of Honour during the mural’s stop in Edmonton. The mural stretches 10 feet tall by 40 feet wide and features the faces of the 156 Canadian soldiers, sailors and aircrew who lost their lives in Afghanistan. The Portraits of Honour National Tour is a joint initiative of Artist Dave Sopha, Kin Canada and the Kin Canada Foundation. The tour gives people across Canada the opportunity to honour and celebrate our Canadian soldiers, pay respect to those who’ve made the ultimate sacrifice and to recognize the challenges that face those who will return home with lasting physical or emotional injuries.
