On behalf of our Conservative Government, I’d like to wish you a Happy Canada Day.
July 1st is a day unlike any other, where family and friends join together in commemorating and celebrating the birth of this great country we know as Canada.
As we celebrate our country’s 145th birthday, let’s also recognize other milestones we’ll achieve in 2012.
This year marks the bicentennial of the War of 1812 – an event which helped shape our independence and freedom as a nation.
And finally, on behalf of our community, I’d like to offer the best of luck to all Canadian athletes participating in the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and especially to Eric Sehn, fellow Edmontonian, who will be part of the Canadian Diving Team.
The world will be watching as our home-grown talent displays the truest definition of hard work, dedication and national pride.
I encourage you to reflect on how lucky we are to call this great country our home.
Happy Canada Day.
Honourable Rona Ambrose, P.C., M.P.
