Getting Things Done For Stony Plain: Supporting Expansion of Exhibition Park.
December 02, 2007

Today in Stony Plain, Minister Ambrose and MLA Fred Lindsay announced a federal-provincial of over $2 million to expand and redevelop the Stony Plain Exhibition Park.

"The expansion of the Stony Plain Exhibition Park will create more recreational and cultural activities for people of all ages to enjoy," said Minister Ambrose. "The Government of Canada is proud to partner with the Province of Alberta. We are delivering on our promise to help our communities become even more vibrant and productive places to live, work and raise families."

The two-phase expansion project is expected to result in an annual increase of 12,000 users and will enable the Park to provide year-round activities for local residents and visitors. The expanded Park will include features such as walking trails, a multi-use play field area, an outdoor performance stage, and picnic areas.

"Revitalizing Exhibition Park will allow us to interpret, educate and engage both residents of Stony Plain and tourists on the vibrant cultural and heritage resources of our community," said Lindsay. "It reflects our Premier's plan to secure Alberta's future by building communities, greening our growth and creating opportunity."
